Welcome to The Pool of Bethesda!
If you are in the Chicago area, we would enjoy the pleasure of meeting you in person. Visiting a church for the first time can be an overwhelming experience; however, we pray that you will find Bethesda is a place where you and your family can encounter Christ in a fresh, new way.
What to Wear?
At the Pool of Bethesda, we have adopted a “come as you are” dress code. Therefore, you will see different styles of dress, including traditional “Sunday Best,” business casual, and relaxed casual (i.e. jeans and gym shoes). We simply ask that the dress is appropriate for the weather and for the occasion (i.e. please no swimsuits, bikinis, etc. at The Pool of Bethesda).
Where to Park?
Parking is available in our two parking lots conveniently located near the sanctuary. When you arrive, one of our attendants will assist you. Additionally, free residential street parking is available. Lastly, overflow parking is available in the south lot.
What to Expect?
It is our sincere desire that you would experience the love of God from the moment you arrive at our church. Our friendly greeters will meet you with a warm smile, an enthusiastic welcome, and provide directions. Our ushers will hand you a worship bulletin and help you find a seat in the sanctuary. Children are welcome to worship with you in the main sanctuary or participate in their own worship experience in our Youth Church. Once service begins, engage in Spirit-filled worship that glorifies God through praise and worship, fellowship, prayer, giving, and biblical preaching. Following the sermon, you can expect to receive an invitation to profess faith in Jesus Christ and follow him in discipleship. Worship service lasts 80-95 minutes long.
Guest Reception
As a first time guest, please join us at immediately following service for a special reception in your honor. You will have an opportunity to meet Pastor David W. Watkins, III, the Pastoral Staff, a representative from the Welcome Ministry, and receive a special gift for joining us. As you are comfortable, please be sure to complete a “Connection Card” which will allow us to communicate with you further.
